    The manual lymphatic drainage primarily helps the decongestion of swollen tissue. In this case this mostly involves swelling on arms or legs. The goal of the treatment is to support the reduced pump-function of the vascular system, to enable the reduction of swelling in the arms and legs and thereby to alleviate the pain which is often connected to that. Often the MLD is combined with a compression therapy with bandages or specifically designed compression stockings.
